(More customer reviews)Apparently this is the cover for my Archos 5 tablet from Archos. Now you can order a cell phone and many other items from Amazon but try ording this item and send it to a PO Box and they just can't do it. I ran into a simular problem with Garmin accessories. So I email Garmin and they stated there were no such restrictions. So, I wonder what the restrictions are for this case? I had simular problems with a neoprene case. My assumption is this must be a hazardous or dangerous item to warrent the shipment of an immitation leather protective case. One thing I realize is if it is sent to a post office box I can be required to sign for it but anyone can have a fake physical address ...you can't have a fake PO Box but apparently Amazon can't confirm its delivery to a person at a government controlled facitlity. It's just mind boggleing. I didn't bother having it sent to someone else's place then have them mail it to me like I've done with other items because starts to get cheaper to just go to the store and pay the extra amount.
Amazon: please give an honest response to why certain items cannot be shipped to certain addresses as questioning the manufacturer or distributor reviels they will send to our addresses but your system block it. As an example you claimed Gamin does not allow the shipment but after emailing them they replied "I would be happy to help you with this. Yes, Garmin does sell to military station overseas that have a APO/EPO address.."

(More customer reviews)Unfortunately you can't find a case that fits the Archos 5 in any brick and mortar store near me in Nebraska. Most salesmen are Archos-what? While I could have bought this exact case minus the design in the USA, I wanted to have something that stood out a bit more and bought this from the UK. I received an email from the company when it shipped to tell me to contact them if I didn't get it at a specific date and also provided an estimated delivery date. Fortunately I received it one week before the estimated delivery date, so I didn't need to contact them.
As for the design of the case, it is great. It has access to all the ports, though I can't leave the case on when I use the DVR station I bought, but this is not a design flaw in the case since I don't need the case on when it is sitting in the DVR station. The only thing I noticed is that ocassionally I find my Archos on when carrying it in my pocket and I am not sure if the case, stylus, or just the tight pocket is pressing the on button down long enough to turn on the device. This is a flaw in the Archos since they should have a lock for the device that allows for the buttons to be pressed and not activate the device.

(More customer reviews)I received this as a gift, and it was shipped directly to me. I opened the package, and was surprised to see this case, and a little bonus tea. Nice touch guys!
I am currently drinking this tea, Yorkshire Tea, it says "Makes a lovely cup of tea", and I have to agree. We don't get this quality tea in America much, so again, bravo mates.
I love everything about this case, except one fatal flaw. Something so diabolically sinister. The little flap is held down using 2 tiny Neodymium Magnets. It's a nice clean, and effective fastening method, but...
The Archos 5 500GB model has an actual Hard Drive, you know, Magnetic Media. I hate to give this product one star, because it's the best case I have found yet, but you do not want High Gauss Neodymium Magnets anywhere near any hard drive you own. If this device used Solid State Flash Memory, it would be fine, but because this device uses sensitive magnetic media to store it's data, you risk catastrophic data failure by holding these high power magnets right next to your device.
I was forced to carefully slice open the leather, and extract the magnets, and then cover the holes with self-stick Velcro (which is the fastener they should have used in the first place). Now that I am sporting a cool Velcro version of this case, I am very happy with it. I really like this product, it's well built, has great craftsmanship, but it's a technological nightmare. I will change the rating to a 4 if they ditch the magnets and replace them with Velcro.
I will change the rating to a perfect 5 if they:
Add a little "Stylus Holder" pocket to the case, which I created myself by adding an extra slice in the "hinge" portion of the leather.
Make the thing a little more stable when using the "kickstand", as the flap acts like a fulcrum, making the device teeter-totter. It needs a flush edge to rest upon.
If you want this case, I highly recommend you remove the magnets before you let your Archos 5 anywhere near this thing. Until the manufacturer removes the magnets and replaces them with a different non-magnetic style of fastener, I can't justify rating this case higher than 1 star.

(More customer reviews)As a case only, I'd give this a 5 - very nicely built, good leather feel and looks nice.
Two issues, however, caused me to downgrade the rating - 1 minor, 1 significant. The minor issue is the bulk the case seems to add to the player - its not a huge addition, but given the fairly hefty size of the Archos 5 to begin with, the case seems to possibly push the size of the 5 plus case to almost obese.
The major issue is that with the way they've designed the case, its impossible to place the 5 on to the battery dock without removing the case. The maddening thing is that if they had placed the front closure and its corresponding magnets a little different, it would have worked (I tested it by repositioning the 5 so that just the leather was between the 5 & the dock and it worked that way.) So the case has to be removed in order to use the battery dock - a big pain seeing that I wanted the 5 to be protected by the case at all times. [I don't have the DVR dock, but I assume the problem applies with it too.]
In the end, a 5 star case gets downgraded to a 3 star rating because faulty design causes incompatibility between the case and the battery dock.
